Connecting early career conservation scientists in Northeastern Thailand
Update: Registration is now CLOSED. Please do not send any more registration forms as we will not be able to process them from May 3rd 23:59 onward.
The Young Conservation Scientists Conference hosted by Suranaree University of Technology is targeted toward early career scientists in order to instill the value of performing conservation actions along with our scientific activities. We aim to build ties within Thailand and Southeast Asia for early career researchers and students to facilitate the successful long term conservation of biodiversity within this region.
The organizing committee of the YCS invites everyone from young career scientists to emeritas to share their experiences regarding how conservation and science are linked. Suranaree University of Technology, is located conveniently in lower Northeastern Thailand within 1 hours drive of two of Thailand's largest national parks and the highly active Sakaerat Biosphere Reserve.

Thailand as part of the Indo-Burma biodiversity hot-spot is home to high levels of endemic species and diversity. Yet Thailand has lost the vast majority of its forest cover through agricultural conversion. It is the duty of our next generation to mitigate the clear loss of habitat and biodiversity through direct conservation actions. This conference will serve as inspiration for the current student generation and build capacity for future conservation efforts and research in Thailand.
